I love your work

Should we expect to see Coconut in the near future?

I really love this picture

I enjoy this a lot!

The feet really make it for me (for some odd reason!)

I love how depressed this guy looks.. How fluent the entire picture is.

Even the "HBO" in the corner... Thats his name? Any meaning for it?
Abbreviation or something?

Notta Flaw!

The design, the color, the shading, even the words.

All of it was perfect!!!

Nice!

"but then i realised it would look so much better if he was alone in a room with the lights off."

Thank goodness!! This turned out GREAT!

Wow

I love your style of art.

sketchnate responds:

thanks, that made me happy :D

Why not?

..Eh, whenever a so-so piece of work hits the front page I like to think "wow there is a god"..

But this is a pretty so-so-so-so kind of piece.. Not amazing, nothing totally terrible...

So why not just give it a few tens and say "yeah, he got lucky."

^.^

(Is this based off of that one little video that went through the life of a flash?.. I remember the second one ended on the outside of NG in the snow... Maybe im just crazy though...)

Why?...

Did this never make frontpage?

*thumbs up*

Brilliant, simply brilliant...

Luwano responds:

Thank you, I appreciate it!

Solid Concept

Black and White artwork is always trendy... I really enjoy how very little in this is white at all though.

Panel one was very solid, I like how it felt..

Panel two was magnificent!! I LOVED that whale!! It had amazing shadowing and just was totally 100% spot-on..

Panel three is where I went "ehhhh..... ehhh...."

I just could not get into his face.. I was honestly slightly disappointed after the second and first panels look and feel!!

The fourth panel did justice though, so all was not lost.

Good job. ^.^

I like to try and give good reviews, but...

If I see a flippin' Narwhal I immediately give it a 10.....

NAAAAARRRRRRRRRRWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!

Err....

NAAARRRRIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL(second L is totally in there)AAAAAAA!!!!

...This can now be counted as a useless review... ^.^

Ill be honest..

I don't like this piece... You have a lot of other really good works but this one is just not that amazing...

I know you were frontpaged once before (with the totally awesome lion) but I cannot understand how this one got frontpage.

Maybe if Goku looked a bit more like Goku I would semi-understand how you got frontpage...

No offense of course.

BiggCaZv2 responds:

Twice. Frontpaged twice before... >_>

Alright. Well firstly, Thanks for the constructive feedback. I don't want to come off like a whiny douche when I come off this, but I'm gonna disagree. Not because I drew it, because I honestly feel like some of the other pieces I did deserve it more than this, but because I feel as though it does deserve to be front page at least.

Its concept, mainly. When the typical anime-tard pairs these two together, its pretty homo-erotic, and if you don't believe me, go to deviantart and type their names into their search engine together. And that aside from the whole "bro fist" thing is still hip, as opposed to the characters that are older than the majority of the people that browse this site.

The way I draw it is very non animeish and the two characters have very definitive features as opposed to how Akira Toryama drew them. Yes, Goku's neck is unnaturally long, but so is Vegeta's. That's intentional, because they are not human. I also played with their eyes so that they are not human looking either. Later, I'll submit a drawing I did of Ratiz to show you what I mean. They're not human, so I make it a point to make them look unhuman. They'd have fangs if their mouths were open, and their fists are huge compared to the normal human.

And they look like who they look like, that's how you were able to identify them. The only mention I made to the series was from the tags. If you're talking about me drawing them like the original creator, then I don't know what to tell you. He whipped these up in accordance to weekly deadlines he had to meet, and I elaborated. So I drew them the way I feel alien humanoids should look.

Above all that, execution. The majority of the frontpaged images are digitally rendered in full color. This was done traditionally in black and white and in pencil. In one pencil. If for no other reason, it just goes to show that you don't need a program that costs hundreds of dollars and an expensive tablet to create something that can be received well on the internet, let alone on Newgrounds.

So even if you don't like the drawing or the characters, its still proof that strong fundamentals alone can carry a piece. No photoshop required.
